Jacksonville's Shawn Wilkins Named PLL Player of the Week

Sep 25th, 2012 | New York, NY – The Professional Lacrosse League (PLL) announced today that Jacksonville Bullies’ forward Shawn Wilkins has been named the Professional Lacrosse League Player of the Week for the period ending September 23, 2012.

The Burlington, Ontario native had seven points in Jacksonvilles season opener last week helping the Bullies earn their first win in franchise history.  The 5-7, 180-pound forward finished last week’s game with three goals and four assists to go along with five loose balls.

Wilkins, played midfield for RIT, helping the Tigers to the semifinals in the 1999 NCAA Division III Tournament and a quarterfinals appearance in 2000. Wilkins was an All-Super Six selection in 1998 and 1999 and an All-Empire 8 selection in 2001.

Shawn’s professional career saw him win NLL Champions Cup in 2007 with Rochester Knighthawks.

Wilkins is currently an assistant coach for the RIT Tigers men’s lacrosse team.
